Authentic Yoga & Meditation

what is Authentic Yoga

Angela follows the principles and philosophy of Patanjali’s Ashtanga Yoga, and takes pride in teaching traditional yoga in its purest form, with a unique perspective.

A student of spiritual culture may take yoga as a way to train the nervous system and endocrine system. Whereas some may wish to take the practice of yoga deeper as a way to eliminate physiological disturbances from mental activity.

The practice of the Asanas helps the body and mind. A sound mind resides in a sound body.

what is yoga nidra

Yoga Nidra is an ancient, sacred yogic process of meditation.

The Yoga Sutra of Patanjali defines nidra as the action of “stilling” the mind.

Nidra represents the state in which we are asleep or unconscious to our Essential Nature.  Nidra occurs when we forget our Essential Nature because we are overly identified and involved with our sensations, emotions, thoughts, and actions based on misperceptions and reactive patterns.

We engage in Yoga Nidra to awaken from our ‘sleep’ of conditioned patterns, so that we may live as, and from our Essential Nature of unconditioned Being. When we fall asleep, we believe the dream-self and dream-world are real. Upon awakening from sleep, we recognize that the dream-self and dream-world are, in truth, empty of substance.  They are only projections of the mind.

Gong & Yoga Nidra

In this special session the gong is used as a tool to take the listener into an even deeper experience. The gong allows for the body to help heal itself by accessing the super conscious mind.

Detach from the pressure and content of the mind. Experience the different levels of reality the gong naturally opens when combined with a yoga nidra guided meditation.
